There is what appears to be a constant crisis mode in the U.S., a mode which automatically puts emotions front and centre on an ongoing basis. This is usually not recognized because emotions are invisible. But this is continual trauma. The intensity about the ongoing political situation is perpetually climbing in the ongoing political and social climate in the last two decades or more. This is emotional intensity; it turns the emotional temperature of the country and the world way up, to be very high. So high it is dangerous.
You can hear the emotional intensity in people’s voices when they are on talk shows, and when they are yelling because of mass shootings. Voices carry the emotions, which originate inside the person, and then spread through the effects of contagion. The intensity is high because of the ongoing conflict and fighting between politicians which is stronger than ever before. People absorb it through the effects of contagion.
Please turn down the emotional temperature, because it is the emotion that carries the dangerous message to people in the public. This is traumatic, and when the intense emotion is spread through people, it is dangerous because it is bad to their health. It represents and carries on the effects of continual trauma, the trauma that has carried through the U.S. for the last two or more decades, since 9/11. This trauma comes from mass shootings, wars and corruption, which produce the intense traumatic emotion. It seems to be a type of covert civil war because people aren’t concerned any longer about the destructive effects on their fellow citizens. Do your part and turn down the emotional temperature. You can keep your political position, but please turn down the emotional temperature.
